📖 The PASTOR framework was created by copywriter Ray Edwards: Problem, Amplify, Story, Transformation, Offer, Response. "Pastor" means shepherd — the method guides readers toward a solution instead of pushing them. The Amplify step leans on loss aversion (Kahneman & Tversky's Prospect Theory): people act to avoid a loss more readily than to chase a gain. Read the full framework

What is the PASTOR framework?

PASTOR is a six-step copywriting structure created by Ray Edwards: Problem, Amplify, Story, Transformation, Offer, and Response. It walks a reader from recognizing their pain to taking action, and it's a favorite for landing pages and long-form sales copy because it leads with empathy instead of hype.

Why score just the headline?

Your headline is the gatekeeper for the whole page. If it doesn't name a problem, raise the stakes, or promise a transformation, most visitors never read the rest of your PASTOR structure. This tool checks the elements a single line can carry and shows you rewrites that lead from each stage.

How the score works

We check four things: whether your headline names a pain (Problem), signals the cost of inaction (Amplify), promises an after-state (Transformation), and speaks directly to one reader at the right length (Person). Each hit adds points. The rewrites show what a stronger version of each element looks like for your copy.
