{"id":468,"date":"2018-02-07T18:47:38","date_gmt":"2018-02-07T18:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.onlinesalespro.com\/?p=468"},"modified":"2020-09-14T12:57:28","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T12:57:28","slug":"a-writers-tips-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/a-writers-tips-for-you\/","title":{"rendered":"A Writer&#039;s Tips for You"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Write Like You Talk<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I work behind the scenes here at Online Sales Pro, sitting in the corner, keeping my keyboard busy, correcting this and revising that. &nbsp;Who am I? &nbsp;I work as an editor here at OSP, making sure that anything that is sent your way will meet with your approval&#8211;and the approval of an English major from way back. &nbsp;I\u2019ve been with OSP for nearly a year. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Before That<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before I joined the team here at OSP, I taught English at the college level, reminding my students about subject and verb agreement and when to use a semicolon. My experience includes the creation of college courses; the presentation of research to large, diverse audiences in person and virtually; the facilitation of college-level courses; and, the training for technical employees and professionals for several decades. <\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have I ever enjoyed working with our team at OSP and those of you who have connected with me! &nbsp;What I\u2019ve found is that everyone who works for OSP has the same eye for detail in whatever field they are in. &nbsp;They may not all have been English majors, but they are all saying the same thing: &nbsp;we care about you and we want to show you our best. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>What I&#8217;ve Learned<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That&#8217;s why I want to share with you some tips that I&#8217;ve learned along the way.&nbsp; Perhaps you struggle with writing sometimes. &nbsp;Try these out for size and see if they help you with your writing:<br><\/span><b><br>#1 &#8211; Getting Started<br><\/b>Initially when you want to create a message, just do it. &nbsp;Write without judgment. &nbsp;Mistakes don\u2019t matter. &nbsp;You\u2019ll go back and correct once you have let your ideas flow.<br><b>#2 &#8211; Backing Away<br><\/b>Take a break. &nbsp;Don\u2019t go back to revise your message until some time has gone by&#8211;an hour, a day, a few days, depending on how soon you want to use your work.<br><b>#3 &#8211; Looking Again<br><\/b>Once time has gone by, open up the document and read it aloud. &nbsp;How does it sound? &nbsp;Make sure it sounds like YOU, because you want your writing to be conversational and authentic. &nbsp;Now you\u2019ve got your ears <strong>and<\/strong> your eyes working for you to see if you want to make any changes.<br><b>#4 &#8211; Finding Any Errors<br><\/b>Now run it through a correction process&#8211;if you wrote it in Microsoft Word, any writing errors will be highlighted automatically. &nbsp;You don\u2019t want any of your customers to see those! &nbsp;Make the changes, but if it\u2019s a matter of style, and you want to start a sentence with \u201cAnd\u201d or \u201cBut\u201d &#8211; do it. &nbsp;If you want to end your sentence with three exclamation points for emphasis, do that!!!<br><b>#5 &#8211; Sharing Your Thoughts<br><\/b>You might want to read it to someone else or ask him or her to read it to get someone\u2019s reaction other than your own. &nbsp;Once you\u2019ve taken those steps, your piece will seem as though you are right there talking to your customers, telling them something of significance.<br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hopefully the more you write, the better you\u2019ll feel about your writing! &nbsp;As a writer, that\u2019s always my hope. &nbsp;Keep at it, and just remember that your words can be such a strong connection to those who read them&#8211;so really share what&#8217;s on your mind. &nbsp;~Joy<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Write Like You Talk I work behind the scenes here at Online Sales Pro, sitting in the corner, keeping my keyboard busy, correcting this and revising that. &nbsp;Who am I? &nbsp;I work as an editor here at OSP, making sure that anything that is sent your way will meet with your approval&#8211;and the approval of [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":2547,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[19,61,135],"tags":[131,132,133,11,31,134],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/468"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=468"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/468\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2548,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/468\/revisions\/2548"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2547"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=468"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=468"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/onlinesalespro.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=468"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
